Our New Chaplain

Introducing our new Chaplain: Revd Helen Marshall

I am delighted that my appointment as Chaplain at St Ursula’s is now official and I can introduce myself to you.

I am originally from Cheshire in the north of England. After university in Norwich, I have lived and worked in many different places in the UK and abroad. I have served as a parish priest in a variety of contexts, from inner city Bristol to suburban Croydon and small town Keswick in the Lake District. I have also worked as a university chaplain at King’s College, London and as a chaplain at an elderly people’s home in Penrith. I am passionate about encouraging people to deepen their spiritual lives and over the years have led a large number of quiet days and retreats as well as offering spiritual direction. I have also had brief experiences of living and working abroad in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.

I am married to David who is also an Anglican priest and currently works for the World Council of Churches in Geneva. We have two sons, Tom and Simon, who are both at university in the UK.

I very much look forward to joining you at St Ursula’s and to working with you that we might all grow in faith and love and in service of God and our neighbours. Please pray for me and my family as I pray for you.

Helen
